1/26/2021 Notice of Public Hearing
A public hearing of the Homewood Planning and Zoning Commission will be conducted February 11, 2021 at 7:00 pm in the board room of the Homewood Village Hall, 2020 Chestnut Road. The meeting is viewable remotely via Zoom, as allowed by Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order 2020-07 and Section 7(e) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act.
The Planning and Zoning Commission will consider a request to rezone the property at the site of the former Calumet Country Club and a request to amend the Homewood Comprehensive Plan.
If you would like to attend the public hearing in-person, please note there will be room capacity limits in order to maintain social distancing. Should capacity be met in the village hall board room, attendees will first be directed to the hallway outside the board room, then to the Homewood Science Center across from the village hall. The capacity limit in the village hall council chambers is 25 (including the audience and presenters), and 40 at the Homewood Science Center theater. Everyone entering these buildings must wear a mask covering their nose and mouth at all times.
Due to building capacity limits the public is strongly encouraged to join the meeting via Zoom or dial-in. The Zoom access and dial-in numbers are:

Questions or comments may be submitted before the meeting by email to pzc@homewoodil.gov or in the drop box outside at the Village Hall. Questions received before 3:00 PM will be read into the record at the meeting. Please type “Calumet Zoning Question” in the subject field of the email. In case of multiple questions or comments pertaining to the same subject matter, the chairperson of the Planning and Zoning Commission reserves the right to respond to or read a single question or comment on each subject. However, all questions or comments shall be distributed to all commission members and shall be included in the record.
Those who want to provide public comment in person will be given a number upon entering village hall or the science center. These numbers will be called in sequential order. If the number of people seeking to make comments in person exceeds the room capacity because of social distancing requirements, the attendee has the option to join via Zoom or wait outside village hall until their number is called. To give everyone the opportunity to comment or ask a question, we ask that once you have spoken, please exit the Village Hall and listen to the remainder of the meeting on Zoom.
Those attending via Zoom will be muted until called upon. Use the “raise your hand” feature to indicate that you desire to ask a question or comment. When it’s your turn you will be unmuted and called upon to speak. When joining the Zoom meeting, enter your first name and your last name or the initial of your last name. What you enter as your name is how you will be called upon. Only individuals listed with proper names will be called upon. Do not enter random characters or inappropriate words for your name.
