Planning & Zoning Commission Public Hearing
A public hearing of the Homewood Planning and Zoning Commission will be conducted February 11, 2021 at 7:00 pm in the board room of the Homewood Village Hall, 2020 Chestnut Road. The meeting is viewable remotely via Zoom, as allowed by Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order 2020-07 and Section 7(e) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act.
The Planning and Zoning Commission will consider a request to rezone the property at the site of the former Calumet Country Club and a request to amend the Homewood Comprehensive Plan. The Commission will make recommendations to the Village Board.
To attend the public hearing in-person, please note there will be room capacity limits to maintain social distancing. Should capacity be met in the village hall board room, attendees will first be directed to the hallway outside the board room, then to the Homewood Science Center across from the village hall. The capacity limit in the village hall council chambers is 25 (including the audience and presenters), and 40 at the Homewood Science Center theater. Everyone entering these buildings must wear a mask covering their nose and mouth.
Due to building capacity limits the public is strongly encouraged to join the meeting via Zoom or dial-in.
The Zoom access and dial-in numbers are:

Persons attending at the village hall or the science center who wish to cross-examine (question) the Petitioner will be given a number upon entering. These numbers will be called in sequential order. If the number of people seeking to ask questions exceeds the room capacity because of social distancing requirements, the attendee has the option to join via Zoom or wait outside village hall until their number is called. To allow everyone to comment or ask a question, we ask that once you have spoken, please exit the village hall and listen to the remainder of the meeting on Zoom. Once all questioning is complete, those wishing to offer comments may address the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Those attending via Zoom will be muted until called upon. Use the “raise your hand” feature to indicate that you desire to ask a question or comment. When it is your turn, you will be unmuted. When joining the Zoom meeting, enter your first name and your last name or the initial of your last name. What you enter as your name is how you will be called upon. Persons entering random or inappropriate words as a screen name will not be called.
To allow everyone an opportunity to speak, those asking questions or making comments are requested to limit their presentation to three minutes, if possible.
