Homewood Farmers Market Celebrates the 40th Anniversary, And Still Growing!

This summer marks the 40th anniversary of the Homewood Farmers’ Market! Not just one of the longest operating markets in the Chicago area, the Homewood market has also grown into a true regional market, drawing customers from throughout the South Suburbs and Northwest Indiana. With over a thousand attendees each week, the market is bustling with activity! The summer market includes over 30 vendors featuring fresh, locally grown produce, baked goods, ready-to-eat specialty foods, and much more!
Bryant Terry said it best, ""What makes the farmers market such a special place is that you're actually creating community around food."" Mr. Terry is right! The goal of the Homewood Farmers’ Market is to offer much more than convenient shopping for quality food. It’s also a community gathering place. Marketgoers can learn about events and services offered by more than 20 community groups.
Liz Smith from Serendipity Yoga and Wellness is returning with yoga for little yogis. Ms. Liz will provide everything so families can pop in at any point throughout yoga time.
Time and Dates for Kids Yoga Are: 10:30 AM, starting on May 28, June 25, July 30, August 27, and September 17,
The Homewood Farmers’ Market is a family-oriented entertainment center. The market showcases live music each week, featuring local favorites MG Bailey and Kirk Lindstrom and up-and-coming youth performers. Kids can color or play at the convenient child-sized tables in the family seating area.
As part of the 40th-anniversary celebration, look for fun giveaways, cooking demos, face painting, and crafts for kids.
Wednesday Evening Market Returns July 6
The Wednesday evening market returns during the height of the summer season. Located in Martin Square, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. This mid-week party features fresh produce, live music, ready-to-eat dinner, and dessert items! While you are downtown, check out the many great restaurants, bars, and boutiques that Homewood has to offer.

Saturday 8 am to 1 pm, May 27 through October 8, Martin Ave between Ridge Road and Chestnut Road.
Wednesday 5 pm to 9 pm, July 6 through August 10, Martin Square between Ridge Road and Martin Avenue.
