Ready to Out-BOO your neighbors by entering the Haunted Homewood Halloween House Decorating Contest?
If you enjoy decorating for Halloween, then this is the contest for you!
We are looking for participants to put their spooky decorating skills up for a frightening, festive challenge.
Contest Rules:
- Participation is open and free to all Homewood residents.
- Employees and elected officials of the Village of Homewood are not eligible to participate.
- Entry applications due no later than on Monday , October 20, at NOON. No exceptions.
-Judging is based on “curb appeal.” Judges will not view decorations on the side or back of the house.
- Participants must agree to have photos of their decorated house on social media, e-newsletter, and other village publications.
- Participants should ensure all lights, animations, and decorations are in place and activated for the judging period of the night.
- All decorations must be PG-rated and not discriminatory, political, or in any way inappropriate for children and neighbors to see.
- Decorations must comply with Homewood laws and housing codes.
- Judges are authorized to exclude entries that do not comply with these guidelines.
- Homeowners do not need to be home for judging.
Judging Categories:
- Scariest: Entries judged on overall sense of fright.
- Child Friendly: Entries judged on mechanical special effects.
- Most Creative Theme: Entries judged on most original and imaginative design.

Winners will be announced on October 28 and will receive a $50 Aurelio’s gift card and a sign in their yard.
