Do you have a green thumb? Then consider adopting a planter to showcase your horticultural abilities!
The Village offers an Adopt-A-Planter Program in which volunteers (residents, employees, businesses, organizations) plant and maintain the in-ground planters in the Central Business District. Volunteers can design and determine the planting materials for the bed; the Village will purchase the materials. The Public Works Department preps all the beds for planting season and waters the beds. Volunteers are responsible for planting and maintaining (including weeding) the bed throughout the summer. A recognition placard is set in the bed with the volunteer's name. It is a one-season commitment, although most of the volunteers opt to keep the planter for many years! Adopt-A-Planter volunteers are recognized for their efforts at the Beautification Awards Ceremony in October.
