Appearance Commission
The purpose of the Appearance Commission is to encourage and promote quality development through attractive urban design. The Commission reviews all non-single family development to ensure that projects are well designed and compatible with adjoining properties. This includes reviewing landscape plans, signage, exterior lighting, and architectural plans, ensuring that these plans produce development which adds to the design quality of the Village.
The Appearance Commission meets the first Thursday of every month. Meetings are held at 6:00pm in the Village Hall Board Room (2020 Chestnut Road, Homewood, IL 60430).

The Appearance Commission is made up of seven volunteer members. Members are appointed to three year terms.

Join the Commission
Looking to get involved in the design of your community? The Village is receiving applications to join the Appearance Commission! Applications are received on a rolling basis and reviewed by Village staff. When a position on the Commission becomes vacant, a new appointment will be selected from the pool of applicants by the Village Board of Trustees. Applications are valid for one year.
