Planning and zoning reviews include property entitlement requests (including rezonings and comprehensive plan amendments), and most applications related to new development or land uses in the Village (including but not limited to reviews of new construction and building alterations and addition; zoning variances; special use, limited use, and temporary use permits; zoning map and text amendments. Apply for a planning and zoning review (including special use permits, temporary use permits, zoning variances, or site plan reviews)?
Beginning May 1, 2026, you can apply for any planning and zoning review using the Village's permit portal.
Find out what your property is zoned?
You can find your property on the Village Zoning Map to determine its zoning district. Contact Planning and Zoning if you have any issues determining the zoning district of your property or requirements within that district.
Find out if your business (use) is allowed at a particular property?
Complete a Zoning Verification application using the Village's permit portal.
Learn about development requirements and regulations.
Review the Zoning Ordinance to learn more about requirements for any type of structure or development in the Village.

SCAM ALERT! A number of current scams are targeting residents applying for Village permits and other planning and zoning applications. These scams often involve scammers posing as members of Village commissions and boards, asking for money via phone or e-mail with suspicious links or wire transfers. Village staff will never request payment by any method except an approved and secure payment portal or an in-person transaction. Please report any suspicious requests to Village staff immediately!
