The Village of Homewood is a municipal corporation located in Cook County, Illinois, and operates under the council-manager form of government as provided by the Illinois Municipal Code.

The Village President and Board of Trustees are elected at-large and are responsible for establishing the policies, programs, and services of the Village. The elected Village Clerk serves as the Village’s official record-keeper. Homewood also has several boards, commissions, and committees made up of community members who advise the Village President and Board of Trustees on a variety of matters, including planning and zoning, personnel, and other Village initiatives.

The Village Board of Trustees meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at Village Hall.

The Village Manager is appointed by the Village President and Board of Trustees and is responsible for carrying out the policies and directives established by the Village Board while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Village.

Village Manager’s Office

Located at 2020 Chestnut Road, the Village Manager’s Office oversees the general administration and operations of the Village. The office provides leadership and coordination across several areas, including economic and community development, planning and zoning, communications and marketing, information technology, community events, human resources, and other organization-wide initiatives.

The Village Manager's office has an Assistant Village Manager and an Assistant to the VIllage Manager to assist with Village operations.
