The Village of Homewood, a municipal corporation located in Cook County, Illinois, is a governmental agency that operates under the council-manager form of government as provided in the Illinois Municipal Code. A President and Board of Trustees, all elected at-large, establish the policies, programs, and services of the Village. An elected Village Clerk serves as the official record-keeper of the Village. There are many boards, commissions, and committees comprised of citizens that advise the President and Board on a variety of topics from planning and zoning to personnel recruitment, selection, and promotion. The Village Board of Trustees meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall to carry out its responsibilities. A Village Manager, appointed by the President and Board executes the governing body’s directives and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Village.
The Manager’s Office, located at 2020 Chestnut Road, oversees the functions of the Village’s economic development, planning, and zoning ordinances, marketing, communications, information technology, community events, human resources, and is responsible for the general administration for the Village.
