Every Homewood Police Officer is required to undergo comprehensive and continuous training focusing on current and relevant topics that enhance the abilities of the entire department. Not only is the department committed to providing ongoing professional training, but they also have more than 18 certified training officers.

Police Academy Training: 640 hrs for all new recruits 

Unlike most professions, a Homewood Police Officer is required to complete a rigorous training schedule every day, month, quarter and year. These trainings range in subject matter and help keep officers up-to-date on new policies and procedures mandated by the state.
