Nobody should automatically assume his or her phone number is included; individual households and businesses who have recently changed their phone number or address and those who use a cellular phone or VoIP phone as their primary number should register here.
CodeRED allows geographically based delivery, which means street addresses are required to ensure emergency notification calls are received by the proper individuals. The system works for cell phones, too, but must have an associated street address to provide relevant messages.
When a Code Red call is made to village residents, one of the two numbers below will be displayed on the telephone's caller ID:
- Emergency Communications: 866-419-5000
- EC Community: 855-969-4636
If residents need to have the Code Red message repeated, they may call one of these numbers to hear the recorded message again.
If you receive a CodeRED Notification:
- Listen carefully
- Follow instructions
- Don’t hang up until you hear the whole message
- Do not call 9-1-1 unless instructed
Outdoor Warning Sirens
Tested the 1st Tuesday of Every Month at 10:00 a.m.
The second major form of emergency notification are the outdoor warning sirens. The sirens are located at three diverse geographic locations within Homewood. Once the sirens have sounded there will be a voice message.
